We welcome all amateur radio operators to join our ARES group, and to participate in our training and emergency nets. Our volunteers serve to protect the public and assist the EMA in communications needs.

Our Amateur Radio Stations in the Colbert County Emergency Management Agency have coverage for Amateur bands on 80 thru 10 meters and all allocated 2 meter frequencies.  The EMA workers have access to the latest weather information via satellite and computer systems.

The Colbert County Emergency Management Agency has a mobile Communications van that is equipped with portable power, battery power, radios to communicate with police, sheriff, hospitals, ambulance, fire, volunteer fire and Amateur.
